Weekend Activities for Jul 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Activities for this coming weekend! Friday, July 27th 6pm Tie Dye! Pick up a t-shirt at the camp store (or bring your own) and meet the Naturalist behind the headquarters building to tie dye your shirt. You can also bring bandanas, shoes, hats, etc.! Beech Fork shirts are in the store for $10 plus tax. If you bring your own items the activity costs $3 dollars to cover the cost of materials. 9pm Full Moon Moths! – It’s National Moth Week! Meet the Naturalist at the Four Coves bath house where he’ll set up a moth attractor. We’ll look at these beautiful night-time critters and take great pictures. YPP Saturday, July 28th 10:30am Cardboard Duct Tape Boat Races! Bring your homemade boat and meet the Naturalist at the boat launch area to have your boat inspected, and then race across the lake for free camping! Remember, your boat and paddles can only be made of cardboard and duct tape, and nothing else! You must attach a rope with a one gallon jug or other inflatable to the boat to ensure we can remove debris if the boat sinks. Fastest time wins free camping, most creative boat wins free camping, and there is a secret category and prize too! 2:00pm Craft: Hobo Fishing Pole! Meet the Naturalist in the activities room to make your own hobo style fishing pole that really works! You can even use it in the 4pm fishing contest if you’re adventurous enough! 4pm Fishing Contest– Kids 14 and under can bring their fishing poles to the dock behind the boat rentals to try and win ice cream! YPP 6:00 Beech Fork Bugs! Meet the Naturalist in the activities room to see some cool bugs, and then go for a short walk with him to catch some and look at up close! YPP Sunday, July 29th 8:00 Birds of Beech Fork– Get in one last adventure before you leave! Meet the Naturalist behind the camp store for a gentle morning walk to learn about the birds of Beech Fork. YPP
